Trump Letter + Get My Payment FAQs

If you’d rather watch than read, check out the YouTube version here!

So like I’ve said the past few days, the Get My Payment has been updated, so try again if you’ve had issues with it before.

I’ve already seen a ton of comments saying yes, Get My Payment Tool is working better for you, and I’m happy about that.

Others are asking a lot of questions about the Get My Payment tool, and I am going to just answer a ton of general questions about the Get My Payment tool that some are still asking, but first, you remember how I told you that the IRS said they’d be mailing out letters to Americans up to 15 days after their stimulus payment is sent?

Well, some people have received those letters already.

And look, I had imagined that it would be some official-looking IRS-type notice type thing, you know what I’m talking about, and I thought it would have these detailed instructions on what to do if you don’t get your stimulus or the right stimulus, but it’s not like that at all. It’s actually kind of just a rah-rah letter from Trump.

And who knows if Trump was actually behind this or Mnuchin or who knows, but anyway it’s on White House letterhead, it’s got his name and signature on the bottom, I’ll put the full text of the letter in the description below, but basically the first paragraph is just saying how hard the government is working to help Americans through this unprecedented time, the second paragraph is basically describing the CARES Act, then the third paragraph just says part of the CARES Act is “fast and direct economic assistance to you.”

Then the fourth paragraph is describing the amount of your payment and the method of your payment, so for example, it might say, “You are receiving an Economic Impact Payment of $1,200 by direct deposit,” or whatever it is as the case may be.

Next couple paragraphs just basically says that America is amazing, and then you have Trump’s signature and name.

And then at the very bottom it says, “For more information on your Economic Impact Payment, please visit IRS.gov/coronavirus or call 800-919-9835.”

I called this 800 number earlier today, and it’s basically voice recordings with information, you can press buttons depending on your particular situation, but I couldn’t find a way to connect with a human.

Alright, so I want to knock out the remaining Get My Payment Tool questions that I saw in the comments, I’m not answering anyone in particular’s comments here because several people asked these questions.

So that is my update for today, I am keeping a close eye obviously on Congressional leaders, and what they’re saying, Senate will be back in Washington next week, May 4, they haven’t been there since March, and of course we know that several members of the house have been very vocal about future stimulus legislation, so I’ll be keeping an eye on that, keeping an eye on the comments for any more questions especially about Get My Payment, but that is all for right now.
